The Courses
The undergraduate program in Political and Social Sciences provides a good interdisciplinary preparation to understand and analyze the public and private dynamics of modern societies in a political and social context such as the current, which is of particular importance. The aim is to initiate the student in situations that allow the advanced level of political, social, economic, legal, institutional, social and historical academic fields to work – with research, planning and intervention responsibilities – in all work environments that require socio-political and political programmatic skills.
Objectives
Graduates in Political and Social Sciences:
- have knowledge of the legal, economic, political, social and historical field, able to evaluate and manage public and private problems related to modern societies
- have interdisciplinary knowledge that allows the planning and implementation of complex strategies
- have a thorough knowledge of the empirical, sociological, statistical, economic and quantitative research method, in particular the comparative method, especially of the public law sectors, to integrate effectively and innovately into the public and private sectors.
Teaching
The undergraduate program pays particular attention to either legal (national and supra-national) or socio-political, economic-quantitative and historical-type courses. The first year is characterized by the predominant presence of basic courses (related to the legal, linguistic, historical and economic fields). The first year consists of basic courses related to areas of public law, history, sociology and linguistics. In the second year there is an in depth study of the historical, sociological and political-economic field. Finally in the last year, the study of legal courses, combined with an important practical proposal represented by training, is planned. Although no alternative courses are provided, the student is given the opportunity to attend other courses that help to make his / her professional profile clearer.
